There is no more authentic Blues and Soul singer in the UK than Kyla Brox. Her raw talent and purity is a shocking thing in an age of conveyor-belt pop idols.
Kyla makes an eagerly awaited return visit to the club with her superb band.
Over the past 15 years, the Kyla Brox Band has shot to prominence, wowing audiences with their passionate performances. As the daughter of 70’s British blues legend Victor Brox (Aynsley Dunbar’s Retaliation) Kyla was born to sing the blues and her stunning voice is matched by a band of uniquely talented musicians.
Kyla was voted Favourite Female Vocalist in the 2008 Digital Blues Awards and is, without question, the finest, young female blues singer in the UK today.
Earlier this year, Kyla won the 5th UK Blues Challenge and now goes on to represent the UK in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in January 2019 and the European Blues Challenge in Ponta Delgada, The Azores in April 2019.
With a repertoire drawn from classic R&B songs and their own compositions, they are in great demand and have played countless concerts and festivals in the UK and abroad. Promoter Paul Dean says “ Her voice is magnificent, combining effortless power with exquisite control.
Those who caught Kyla on one of her previous rare visits to the club, will not want to miss this very special night. Those of you who missed her last time, please don’t make the same mistake again.
This is certainly not a gig to be missed”. Kyla and the band, Danny Blomeley on bass, Paul Farr on guitar, Mark Orbiton on drums, will be showcasing numbers from the critically acclaimed new album “Throw Away Your Blues” which has been described by critics as ‘a serious quality blues album’,
‘one of the best Blues & Soul albums of the year’, and ‘ a beautiful, beautiful piece of work’.
