UK based Marcus Malone, from Detroit, has played the club before with his superb band but has now teamed up with explosive British blues rock guitarist Innes Sibun to form the Malone Sibun Band.
Innes was last seen at the club as a pivotal member of Sari Schorr & The engine Room.
The new band came about with a chance meeting at a show which uncovered a surprising amount of musical common ground. At that point, both musicians had just enjoyed the busiest 12 months of their careers and they appraised their respective situations before deciding to join forces.
When you listen to Marcus you hear echos of Paul Rogers, Otis Reading and David Coverdale. Marcus’s critically acclaimed album’A Better Man’ has topped several ‘best of the year’ polls and he was nominated as a finalist in the European Blues Awards.
Innes Sibun was barely in his 20’s when he was produced by the legendary Mike Vernon, before joining Robert Plant’s ‘Fate Of Nations’ world tour. He has subsequently built an international reputation by signing with the American label Viceroy, and then Provogue and Blues Boulevard in Europe.
Innes has shades of guitarists Jimmy Page, Hendrix and Paul Kossoff and is an explosive, but feel player, versatile enough to be able to slip from Rock and Blues into Jazz and funk. Together, the two stellar musicians promise a powerful mix of rock, blues, souls and funk, all underpinned by Malone's soulful, song driven quality and triggered by Sibun’s high levels of intensity.
It’s an exciting musical partnership that has seen them wowing audiences in the UK and Europe and is definitely a gig
